World of Quilts XXXVII

After 36 years in Somers, NY, the Northern Star Quilters Guild has moved to a larger venue  at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury on April 30 and May 1, 2016. The show will be open 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. Admission is $10.00. This huge show will display over 250 quilts made by artists throughout the northeastern United States. More than 30 vendors will be on hand to display and sell their unique fabrics, notions and other quilting supplies. There will also be demonstrations, door prizes, as well as guest lecturer Linda M. Poole, from Milford, Pennsylvania.

Each year, the guild raffles off a quilt to raise money for charity. The beautiful handmade quilt “Shot Thru and Thru” was originally designed by Karen Carlson and Carol Auer and was made by members of the guild. It will be raffled off after the show with proceeds going to Ann’s Place.
