Those are fun, aren't they Lois. Very creative mug rug for sure.

And, yeah, football season is near so I can get some embroidery and knitting done while sitting with my husband and enjoying the games.

Hi Lois -

You were close. The basketball colors are red and blue (University of Kansas Jayhawks). But I'm also a big Broncos fan and football season is just starting, so perfect!!

Nancy

Well then, I guess that was a lucky near miss! 8)

Thanks for the compliments. A very long time ago Nancy was lamenting that all the mug rugs were too nice to use. I promised to make her one that was just asking to be used. And, yes, it is clothes line wrapped with 3/4" strips of quilt fabric. I use school glue sticks to hold the fabric in place. If you are trying to make a circle, use straight pins pushed through the base just to get started. The pins will look like the spokes of a wheel. Use a very wide rather long zigzag stitch. If you want to make a bowl, after you have completed a base begin holding the flat base at an angle to form the sides. It is very much fun and rather addicting. Still working to make a deadline getting a quilt done for a show by tomorrow. Otherwise, I could do a more complete tutorial for Terrie. And Nancy, I remembered you cheering for a BB team during March Maddness and I thought the colors were Orange and Blue. Didn't know you were a Bronco's fan. Didn't you make an orange a blue BB quilt?

That is cute, Lois! Is it a clothesline wrap?
